Microsoft Teams has become an essential tool for remote collaboration and communication, and its popularity continues to grow. The platform has continuously evolved since its launch in 2017 to meet the dynamic needs of its users. In line with this commitment to enhancing user experience, Microsoft has announced a series of exciting updates and feature enhancements that will be rolled out throughout this year, ensuring that Teams remains at the forefront of modern workplace communication and collaboration solutions.

Branded Meetings – Join Launcher Screen with Brand Image and Logo Support

Teams now offers a premium feature called Branded Meetings, allowing users to customize their join launcher screen with their brand’s logo and image. This feature adds a touch of professionalism and personalization to your Teams meetings, ensuring your brand’s presence is felt throughout.

Meeting protection support on Teams Rooms on Android

With the aim of providing enhanced meeting security, Teams Rooms on Android devices now support premium meeting security features. This includes end-to-end encryption and sensitivity labels, ensuring that your meetings remain private and confidential. These features are activated if the meeting organiser has them turned on, ensuring a secure collaboration environment.

Configure Teams meetings with protection for sensitive data on a mobile device

To meet compliance standards, users can now pick sensitivity labels on their Teams calendar while collaborating in meetings on a mobile device. These labels follow the rules set by the administrators and apply to all users within the tenant. This feature allows for secure collaboration, ensuring sensitive data is protected and compliance requirements are met.

Frosted Glass Backgrounds in Teams Meetings

Teams now offers a new background effect called Frosted Glass, which allows users to maintain their privacy with a background blur in a professional and creative way. By activating Frosted Glass with a PNG image, the transparent area of the image is transformed into a blur background while the graphic remains intact. This feature adds a touch of elegance and creativity to your Teams meetings.

Meeting “Recording & Transcription” tab will be replaced by “Recap” tab

To improve accessibility and organisation, Microsoft is replacing the “Recording & Transcription” tab with the new “Recap” tab for scheduled meetings. The Recap tab will include access to both the recording and transcript of the meeting. For meetings without a Recap tab, users can still access the recording and transcript from the “Recording & Transcription” tab. This update streamlines the process of accessing meeting content, making it more intuitive and user-friendly.

Microsoft Copilot for Microsoft 365 in Teams Chat list

For Copilot licensed users, the Copilot for Microsoft 365 app will now be visible in the Teams chat list. This convenient update allows for easy access to the Copilot app directly from the chat list, enhancing productivity and collaboration within Teams.

Voice isolation

Teams now introduces Voice Isolation, a remarkable feature that ensures clear and uninterrupted calls or meetings, regardless of your surroundings. By leveraging advanced AI technology, Voice Isolation filters out all background noise, including other people’s voices, allowing only the user’s voice to be transmitted. Whether you are in a bustling office, a noisy cafe, or a crowded airport, you can communicate with confidence and clarity. This feature showcases Microsoft’s commitment to leveraging AI to solve user problems and enhance audio quality and overall communication experience.
